Raised on Long Island, Ed Judice embarked on a path in photography at the age of 13 when he took a job sweeping floors in a local photo studio. After picking up work photographing locally and a stint in the army, he moved to New York city, Judice began doing commercial work for ad agencies and magazines and eventually with Polaroid. Through Polaroid, he began developing contacts in western Massachusetts, eventually moving to Wendell in the early 1970s. He maintains an active studio in Northampton.
The Judice collection consists of a series of 59 digital images relating to a photo documentation project at the Rodney Hunt factory in Orange, Mass., in 1973 and 1974; a series of photographs documenting the bicentennial of Wendell in 1981; and two video documentaries of the Three County Fair, Northampton, Mass., 2007, and "Benny and Joe: A friendship," 2010.

Since settling in Northampton in 1990, Judice has built a thriving photographic practice. In addition to working for the Disney magazine Family Fun for over 16 years, Judice continues as a "people photographer," particularly of children, and does commercial work for area colleges. He is part of a community of photographers who gather regularly to share projects, comments, and critiques. He works regularly with a plastic Holga, as well as his old Rolleiflex, and he has expanded into video production, writing that "The video camera is another extension of my eye and mind, and I bring all of the still photo criteria to the medium." In 2008, he and his wife and produced a video about her home city, Fuzhou, China, documenting the city with the camera and interviewing everyday people in their homes and businesses.

Benny and Joe: A Friendship. Some days at Shu-Fix and the story of two old friends
2010
"Joe Serrazina came to America in 1974 from Portugal. In 1989 he bought Shu-Fix, which had been a Northampton landmark for more than 50 years. He opened on Pleasant Street, where 70 year-old Benny Strojny, himself a Polish immigrant, joined Joe in what would become a 20+ year working friendship.
"Benny and Joe moved to Hawley Street in Northampton, and Shu-Fix continues to serve its customers with high quality and old fashioned shoe repair. This film is a small story of their relationship and a glimpse into the lives of two old friends."
