New Haven has been an important center of Friends activity in southern Connecticut, caring for a worship group at Old Saybrook (1954-1955) and the preparative meeting at Guilford (1953-1957), which was set off as a monthly meeting of its own in 1957. New Haven has often absorbed members as smaller meetings in the area were laid down.
