Scope of collection

The collection consists of copies of typed notes on visits and interviews with various citizens of Ashfield, Massachusetts conducted during 1968 and 1969 by Richard Archambault under the direction of Joel Halpern of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Anthropology Dept. Some of the citizens interviewed were Mr. and Mrs. Peas, Mr. and Mrs. Steinmetz (minister), Mr. and Mrs. Harris (of the historical society), Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gray (farmer and teacher), and the Superintendent of Schools, as well as members of the school committee.
